Model description

The set includes 6 models symbolizing the anatomical elements involved in the formation of auditory sensations. It is designed to create a spatial mock-up based on the structure from the Skrikit set - all models have mounting elements that allow them to be attached to the tiles from the set. To create it, it is necessary to have a SkriKit set, which is a part of the SkriLab educational laboratory, or to print the necessary engineering elements from the "Skriparts" tab at Skrimarket: https://skrimarket.com/skriparts.

The kit will be especially useful during classes in biology and nature.

If you would like to get ideas and inspiration about using these models during your lessons please check out our Skriware Academy suggestions: “The formation of Hearing” Lesson: https://academy.skriware.com/lesson/95.

Model elements

The set consists of 6 files. The files in the set have been prepared so that individual models could be printed individually or as a part of one printout.

Among the files to be printed you will find:

Single item files:

- Ear: an auricle model,

- Eardrum frame: a model of the eardrum,

- Eardrum membrane (TPU): a model symbolizing the eardrum,

- Auditory ossicles: an auditory ossicles model,

- Cochlea: a Cochlea model,

- Brain: a model that depicts the brain.

Files with sets of several elements:

- Ear anatomy - set (without Eardrum membrane): a set of all models except for the eardrum.

NOTE: You can skip printing the “Eardrum membrane (TPU)” model if you don't have TPU filament. It was created to make the model more realistic (elastic eardrum), but it requires the use of an appropriate material. You can create a fully functional mock-up using only the frame symbolizing the eardrum ("Eardrum frame" file).

Visualization and description of separate elements can be found in the instructions for assembling the model: [ASSEMBLY MANUAL] Formation of auditory sensations

Technical data

Model size(XYZ): a plate with all elements ("Set" file) - 66 x 177 44 mm / individual elements - 39 x 39 x 1.6 mm.

Printing time: set - 11 h 7 min / individual elements - from 22 min to 7 h 16 min.

The amount of filament: set - 138 g / individual elements - from 10 g to 85 g.

Recommended filament type: for the file “Eardrum inside TPU” - SkriTPU / TPU; for other files: SkriPLA / PLA.

Additional information

We recommend printing the model only to users of the SkriLab educational laboratory with SkriKits. With their use, you can create a spatial mock-up of the hearing process (Auditory sensations.png). If you want to learn how to construct it and use it in your class, check out our lesson, “The formation of Hearing” at Skriware Academy: https://academy.skriware.com/lesson/95.

Before printing, please change the print orientation of the “Eardrum inside TPU” and “Eardrum frame” files to flat.
