Model description

A model for teaching about performing operations on the number line. It can serve as a three-dimensional visualization of addition and subtraction, which students would traditionally write down in their notebooks. Adding a kinesthetic element to the learning process will make it easier for students to absorb new knowledge.

The model will be particularly useful in Maths classes and when working with students with special educational needs.

Model elements

The model consists of 10 models: 7 elements showing different measuring lengths and 3 number lines of different ranges.

The files were prepared in such a way that they can be printed as an individual or group printout.

Among the files to be printed you will find:

Single item files:

Operation +- 1 - measuring length 1

Operation +- 2 - measuring length 2

Operation +- 3 - measuring length 3

Operation +- 4 - measuring length 4

Operation +- 5 - measuring length 5

Operation +- 6 - measuring length 6

Operation +- 7 - measuring length 7

Mathematical operations on number line - (-14 to -5) number line

Mathematical operations on number line - (-4 to 5) number line

Mathematical operations on number line - (6 to 15) number line

Files with sets - the so-called plates:

Mathematical operations on number line - set of operations: set consisting of all measuring lengths

Mathematical operations on number line - set: set consisting of all measuring lengths and a number line ranging from -4 to 5.

If you want to print more copies of the selected item, you can use the multiplier in the slicer ("multiply model" function). Use the "+" and "-" buttons to set the desired number of models and the slicer will automatically place them on the printbed.

Technical data

Model size (XYZ): single masuring length - 34 x 14 x 21.5 mm (+-1) - 154 x 14 x 21.5 mm (+-7) // number line - 200.2  x 20 x 6.8 mm

Printing time: single measuring length - 0h 37 min - 1h 40 min. //number line - 1h 59 min. // set of measuring lengths - 7h 25 min. // set of measuring lengths and number line - 9h 31 min.

Filament quantity: single measuring length - 7 g. - 24 g. // number line - 31 g. // set of measuring lengths - 98 g. // set of measuring lengths and number line - 126 g.

Recommended filament type: SkriPLA / PLA.
