Model description

A set of parts depicting DNA elements. The shapes of the parts have been designed in such a way so that the students could observe how the separate components connect and create complex DNA chains on their own.

The model could be especially useful during natural history, biology and chemistry classes.

If you would like to get ideas and inspiration about using these models during your lessons please check out our Skriware Academy suggestions: “The carrier of genetic information - DNA” Lesson: https://academy.skriware.com/lesson/99

Model elements

The set consists of 8 models. The files in the set have been prepared in such a way as to be printed separately or as a part of one printout.

If you want to print more copies of the selected item, you can use the multiplier in the slicer ("multiply model" function). Use the "+" and "-" buttons to set the desired number of models and the slicer will automatically place them on the worktop.

Among the files to be printed you will find:

Single elements files:

- Adenine: a part with the letter A depicting adenine,

- Cytosine: a part with the letter C depicting cytosine,

- Guanine: a part with the letter G depicting guanine,

- Thymine: a part with the letter T depicting thymine,

- Phosphate L: a part with the letter P depicting the residual phosphoric acid to be attached to the left side of the model,

- Phosphate R: a part with the letter P depicting residual phosphoric acid to be attached to the right side of the model,

- Sugar L: a part with the letter S depicting sugar to be attached to the left side of the model,

- Sugar R: a part with the letter S depicting sugar to be attached to the right side of the model.

File with sets of several elements:

- DNA building - set: all 8 parts depicting DNA elements placed in one file.

Additional information

Models can also be used during a remote lesson by asking students to perform a practical task with their use. For this purpose, you can use Tinkercad or any other 3D editor.
