I have a hard time telling the front from the back of my quads. They all look the same to me while in the air. I usually fasten a ball to the front of the quad to help with the orientation. I have designed a few parts that can be combined to form an "orientation device", You need some M3 screws and some kind of tube to complete the set. The tube should be around 3,5 mm wide. I made mine by shrinking several shrink tube lengths on to of each other and putting them in a soda straw. The soda straw provides a slippery surface that makes it easy to slide the in the holders. A glass fiber or carbon fiber rod would also have worked well. No modification of the ZMR frame is necessary. The original holes are used. When I transport the quad I push the rod backward so avoid breaking it. During flight it is fully extended.
