SummaryI have designed a couple mounts for the Railcore using either the standard or threaded heatsink with the volcano hotend and mounting to the Bondtech BMG. The purpose of these hotend mounts is to provide a more rigid connection between the extruder and the hotend especially with the use of 713maker.com's aluminum y-plate/bmg mount. As marked, this is a work in progress and has not been printed yet. Tolerances likely need to be tweaked a bit. If you have any issues or suggestions, please let me know :) In the attached files I have included a ptfe cutter template for each heatsink version. Before using the cutter, the ptfe should be chamfered with a 60 degree end. That end should then be placed into the template and cut to size. The standard mount is designed to be used with threaded heat set inserts such ashttps://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077CJV3Z9with a 5mm outer diameter and 3.8mm depth. To install, place the hotend mount into the bmg and mount the bmg and hotend mount into the mounting plates. insert the beveled end of the ptfe tube into the heatsink. If using the threaded version, install the nut into the mount now. insert the hotend into the mount (thread in the threaded version). place the cap on for the standard version after inserting the heat set inserts. I added a bltouch mount using the same heat set inserts as well (5mm OD, 3.8mm depth) Also, if anyone wants the native solidworks (educational) to play with, let me know and I'll upload that as well. 8Apr2020: I added an alternate mount for the James Tongue fan, This is required for the threaded assembly to allow you to screw in the heatsink and hotend as an assembly.
