I was looking for a spool holder design for my Tevo Tornado that would mount the spool up off my work surface but also let me mount the spool from the front, I couldn't find any online so I came up with this. This prints in 3 pieces in order to get the optimal print layer for each of the important parts and due to it's overall size. The arm mounts to the top rail of the Tevo by sliding on from the end without the Z screw. It can only be slid on, can't be snapped on from the top. The straight arm attached to the curved arm using a mortise & tenon joint. This is a snug fit and depending on how your print turns out you may need to cut back any overhanging plastic from the hole and mating surfaces. Also you'll need to remove the supports from inside the mortise and the bottom of the tendon. I Epoxied the joint but it seems strong enough to be left as a press fit. Up to you how you want to leave it. The Spool shaft is meant to be left as a press fit. This has to go on after the arm is slid onto the upper rail and the hole past the the Z screw as the shaft extends farther then the screw. This also a tight fit also and I suggest test fitting the parts before it is on the printer to make sure it moves freely and removing any flanges on the end of the shaft due to printing directly on the build surface. The disk at the back of the shaft is designed to fit flush into the recess in the arm locking it in place so if there is any plastic built up disk it could make this difficult. The spool shaft is also under 1" in Diameter to accommodate the smaller hubs of the AMZ3D brand. When you put a spool on the holder it will flex a bit, about 1/2 a inch, but that about it. Update, after a year of use I've changed my setup and can't use the holder anymore so I figures I'd see how much weight it can hold. Tevo Tornado Spool Holder Strength Test
