This is my entry into the 3D Printing Nerd's Spool Holder contest.   I hope you enjoy it. My design is meant to be placed anywhere on the shelf.  This is a two part design that has slots in the spool holder piece to securly slide into the holder base.  For additional strength when mounting, I also added a gap in the parts that grip the wood to fit around the shelf brackets.  Of course this is not required, but does add a bit of piece of mind.  Multiple bases can be printed and placed all around the shelf allowing for a single spool holder piece to be moved around as needed.  There is a dip in between the two pieces the go around the wood so a full 1kg spool can be on the shelf and not disturbed. Supports are built into the base so it can be printed in the orientation of the file as provided, providing the greatest strength.   Overall, no addtional supports are required.  (If desired I can provide a base without the built in supports.) Printed at .3236 (golden ratio for my Tevo Little Monster) for the pictures, but I also have printed at .1618 (TLM) and .2 (on my Duplicator i3), so this design has been tested at multiple layer heights. I had a ton of fun designing this.   While a long shot to win, I have learned a lot about designing parts.    Good luck to all that entered and I hope someone finds value in this design.   Daryl LaFoya Daryl L's Prints
