These sailors were designed to populate my sailing ships from the time between the American revolution and the Napoleonic wars.  Mostly, these ships are in 1:150 or 1:200 scale,  so this team is supposed to be really tiny. Don't go looking for lots of detail here, although at 1:72 scale (which is 100% size for the files here) they should still look OK. Given the small scale and the similar nature of the work that these men did regardless of nationality, you can use them to populate an American, a English or a French vessel.  Only the officer is supposed to be French - I will add an English one later to this set once time permits. The pictures show my own first printout of these guys - all figures were printed out on an Elegoo Mars at 50% size to create a set of 1:150 scale sailors.  They now populate a Tartane-class pirate hunter in that scale.    I hope that this set helps others who want to address what may be a common issue with historic sailing ship models - after lots of paint, rigging and other detailing you still miss a realistic crew. Update 23.08.2020: added David the English officer.  Some poses of Henk, Jean and Piet adjusted. More pictures to follow. Update 27.12.2020: added further pictures of some 1:200 scale crew that I have recently printed out for a well-known U.S. warship. Update 19.03.2021: updated Jean-3, Jean-4, Henk-2 and Henk-3 to improve some of the arms and hands of the original "ten-minutes-during-my-lunchbreak" designs.  The two Henks now also have proper sailors' hats for 1800 AD instead of floppy ones to fully date them into the correct era. Update 14.11.2023: the officers have now been given a makeover in two "NEW" versions.

After an eternity working in the 2D printing industry, I underwent an upgrade and started working for a 3D printing startup in 2020. I love working on physical, as well as digital, dioramas - creating them, populating them, improving them. My usual scales are 1:72 and 1:144.
