Hi all, I have created a replica of the Roman Dodecahedron originally found at the French Jublains. These objects have been found all over old Roman settlements in Europe. The exact purpose and use of the Dodecahedrons still remains a mystery today. Several theories exist ranging from measuring distances, religious artefacts or knitting gloves. The design was done in Fusion 360. The size of the Dodecahedron and the holes are from the measurements given in the article “One rouille en bordure des therms de Jublains (Mayenne): enfin un dodecaedre en context archeologique!” by Gerard Guillier et al. I have uploaded two versions of the object, one complete version and one version split in two halves. I printed the two halves and glued them together. Using dual extrusion and PVA you can probably print it in one go. Also two versions of a stand has been uploaded in order to present the object. The Dodecahedron was printed using ColorFabb BronzeFill, using a 0.4 mm nozzle, at 60 mm/s and 200 dC temperature. Support is needed and I used a brim to fix the object to the heated bed (at 60 dC). After producing the two halves, I glued them together using superglue. Sanding and polishing the object for several days brings out the bronze particles at the surface resulting in a nice shine. It didn't look as battered as the original one, so I decided to give it some patina by spraying it with a mixture of salt and vinegar. The stand was printed using ColorFabb WoodFill (0.4 mm, 60 mm/s at 200 dC).   Enjoy,   Marco3D
