The Parrot Bebop 2 Talon is a mountable mechanical claw for the Bebop 2 Drone.   Using a spring lock, The Parrot Bebop 2 Talon snaps closed around an item upon contact. It can also be set to open with an integrated spring lock system. The talon is printed with minimal supports and light post-print clean up, and it is easily assembled with readily available springs, screws, washers, and nuts. If following recommended print settings (.15mm to .2mm layer thickness, .15 % infill) the fully assembled Talon weighs just 35 grams and can pick up items several times its weight.  The Talon mounts to the Parrot Bebop 2 underbody UAM (a modified version of Kirby Downey’s Bebop 2 Drone Bottom Mount, https://www.myminifactory.com/object/bebop-2-drone-template-17450).   Also included in this package is the Parrot Bebop 2 underbody UAM counterbalance mount, which has a location to place up to 10 US pennies to counterbalance the drone depending on load requirements    Printed Parts o   Parrot Bebop 2 UAM (or Parrot Bebop 2 UAM Counterbalance) o   Parrot Bebop 2 Upper Talon o   Parrot Bebop 2 Lower Talon o   Parrot Bebop 2 Inner bushing Hardware o   (1) #8-32 x 1” Pan head Screw o   (1) #8 washer o   (1) #8-32 nut o   (2) #6-32 x 1” Pan head Screw o   (2) #6-32 narrow nut o   (1) Extension spring (.25ish” diameter 1ish” length (un-extended)) I got mine from www.harborfreight.com, here is another location: http://www.mcmaster.com/#9654k973/=1150686 ) o   (1) modified compression spring (.15” diameter from standard click pen)   Future designs could include various items for attachment to the UAM, styles of claws that automatically hinge down after grabbing the desired item (to better balance heavy loads, and for even possibly the integration of a small servo for replacing the mechanical system for electronic control of the talon.
