Introducing the first beta test of our OpenTactics project! Somewhere between a boardgame and a miniature wargame, OpenTactics uses the core dice system from our Pocket-Tactics games and blows up the action with modular terrain scale to the characters. We want the game to be expansive and grant players the ability to create their own characters and share them with the community, gathering all content together in a shared online library here on Thingiverse and on our own site. INSTRUCTIONS- For our first test, we're pitting a viking war party against the detachment from a horde of human/troll hybrids. To play this scenario, you'll want to print some combination of at least 9 tiles (or more, if you feel like using a larger map), making a river in the center from the water tiles. Print at least one catwalk and place it in the center as a bridge. Set up the map and choose opposite sides for deployment, treating the bridge as an objective. You'll want to print the following models: PLAYER ONE (Viking Freeman x2, Viking Raider x2, Viking Guard x2, Jarl's Champion x1, Vala x1), PLAYER TWO (Trollspawn Brute x2, Trollspawn Lobber x2, Trollspawn Warrior x2, Trollspawn Wolfrider x1, Runescarred x1). We're really looking forward to hearing feedback about your games, ideas, and directions you'd like to see this all go. If you print and play this be sure and post a make, and shoot us a message here or at [email protected] We've set up a Patreon page for anyone who's interested in helping to fund us so we can keep making free and open sourced games like OpenTactics, Pocket-Tactics, Discord, and others, not to mention the growing catalog of gaming miniatures that you can use for whatever you want! (Psst... we take requests and commissions...) Enjoy!
