Culture: Neolithic. Material: Dolerite Dims: L 11.7cm, W 7.3cm Accession No: HCA 123 Current Location: The Hunt Museum, Limerick. This axe weighs 478g, has a symmetrical cross-section, damaged edges, asymmetrical blade and rounded, almost flat butt. The blade, sides, butt and faces are ground and polished. The sides are slightly splayed. The edge is heavily chipped, worn and blunted. The findspot is Rockbarton Bog, Lough Gur, Limerick. Dolerite predominantly comes from the north-east of Ireland.
