About the Model: In the lithograph by artist Indra Sharma, Lord Krishna is portrayed as the divine cowherd. He is seated on a sturdy rock, playing a flute, and attired in a simple yellow robe with a gold crown gracing his head. Surrounding him are a group of cows, seemingly captivated by the enchanting melody emanating from his flute. The background of Krishna as a cowherd is a significant aspect of the artwork. Krishna spent his formative years in the idyllic pastoral setting of Vrindavan, where he herded cows and played his melodious tunes on the flute. This period in Krishna's life is symbolic of his divine connection with nature and all living beings. It represents the love and harmony he shared with the animals and the environment, embodying the essence of a carefree and spiritually enriching existence. The serene landscape, with a meandering stream and a graceful peacock, further enhances the lithograph's sense of tranquility. This portrayal captures the simplicity and spiritual charm of Lord Krishna as the beloved cowherd, evoking a sense of peace and reverence for his divine presence in the pastoral setting of Vrindavan.
