Hallo Factorians, another toy to play with. Aren´t planetary gears beautiful? The magic of moving parts, and you can hold this one or that one and it changes his operation. ATTENTION: This GEAR is 182,5mm in diameter and height 29mm!!! This is none of the small things for your pocket. This one is to see what is going on. Usecase:You can use planetary gears for massive reduction the speed of a motor or what ever, without building massiv blocks for the bearings. You do not leave the axe of the original input and if you hold the big wheel around the gear, you get slow speed as result. This is not the Original One: Why? (Original is the yellow / black on the pictures)The original design had lower tolerances and thats why i/you are not able to print it in one piece. I had to cut the outer ring one time, build the gear and doodle the ring again. The gear does a really great job and if you are interessted i can upload the files, too! For the Original one i also designed a motor mount (for my motor but not hard to modify it for your usecase) + the outgoing parts from the 3 planetgears to an axe. If you prefer the Original Gear write in the Comments. This One:This one has wider tolerances and thats why it is printable in one peace! The 2x20° angle on the gears prevent the planetary gear from selfdestruct. It centers itself while turning. The result of the wider tolerances is more air between the parts and so more movement. It moves great but is more to show how the gear is working as to use it as a real gear. If you want to have a powerful, strong planetary gear, then ask for the "original" one, but you have to cut the outer ring once and glue it again. Look onto the pictures to see the first layers printed on one of my deltas. The size is little less than 183mm diameter, so you are able to print it on the most printers with carthesian 200x200 or bigger + also the deltas with 200mm diameter or more! Made 2 of them with the same gears only 1 has centered holes in the gears to mount it to a motor, use it as a gear with adapters etc. pp. Your choice, but i recommend the one with the holes. You are more flexible and use less filament. Plus for future projects you can also design your own in/output or if you are interessted, i can design also the parts for motors and axes from the gears and so on. Tell me what you need in the comment section and i do it. Have fun with the gear and please post your makes and videos while you are playing or using the gear. Many thanks and see you :)3D Bullett
