The Italian sculptor Marinali was born in Angarano in 1643, his father who was a sculptor and carpenter probably passed him his passion for art. Orazio Marinali, started following his father’s path in 1667 when he moved to Vicenza where he began his artistic studies. He then finished his studies in Rome and became a complete artist and sculptor just before 1675. This work representing the philosopher Eraclito, along with the other artist’s sculptures, reveals a style and features incredibly close to the family Albanese’s ones. During his studies, Marinali did his apprenticeship with Albanese’s family and he was able to learn and assimilate the family’s style in sculpting. After Albanese family disappeared from the art scene, Marinali and his brothers became some of the main representatives of the Italian art scene. Eraclito is a late-baroque sculpture which emblematically represents Marinali’s style and it can currently be found in the Musei Civici agli Eremitani in Padua, Italy.
