The scale of these three building files from Townbuilder is small, ca. 1:144, to match some 17th century sailors whom I wanted to include in a miniature diorama (see pictures).  I printed out the house using both a FDM (0.4mm nozzle diameter, 0.15mm layers) and a DLP printer (0.05mm layers).  I actually preferred the FDM result which had a certain rugged charm so I used that one for the diorama.  The scene is also replicated in a 3D scenario that I did as an exercise in Blender.  The textures used come from www.texturehaven.com .  The scenario is about four characters who return to a house close to the sea.  They are looking for the key to get in. The wood base (part of an apple tree) in the diorama pictures is not included in the .stl files.  Update 25.04.2021: This short exercise got me really interested in virtual dioramas instead of just physical ones, which may or may not have been a good thing.  To see some of the repercussions, visit my instagram site from here at the link button above..... Anyway I really liked this basic little house diorama and have now added the files for the four characters which came from one of my sailors posts....

After an eternity working in the 2D printing industry, I underwent an upgrade and started working for a 3D printing startup in 2020. I love working on physical, as well as digital, dioramas - creating them, populating them, improving them. My usual scales are 1:72 and 1:144.
