A simple design to convert a barrel jack to a USB jack. As seen on Category5 Technology TV. This quick design features a snap-on lid and a peg to help hold the USB breakout in place. It's just a fast project to get the job done. If I cared enough to make it "perfect" I'd adjust the pegs for the USB breakout (because I had positioned them incorrectly, I just ended up using contact cement to hold the breakout in place). I would also add some support under the USB breakout to accommodate the height of the solder joints on the under-side. None of this made the design unusable in any way (with the help of the adehesive), so I was satisfied with my first print. I use a 5V 5A power supply with a barrel plug, and then connect my 5V SBC / Pinebook Pro to the USB-A jack to provide an extra 2A power for my peripherals vs my default 3A power supply. The USB end is setup for a typical 17mm wide USB-A breakout board and the USB-A Jack Cutout is 14.5mm width, 7mm height, 3.5mm from floor. The hole for the barrel jack is 11mm. It's a bit tight, so feel free to use a round file to make it a bit bigger if you have trouble.   Example Product: Choose the amperage you need and the correct sized barrel jack according to the tip on the power supply you choose. 5.5x2.5mm Barrel Jack: https://amzn.to/3vtojuk 5.5x2.1mm Barrel Jack: https://amzn.to/3cvMzmK USB-A Breakout: https://amzn.to/3ll4D6X 15 Amp Power Supply: https://amzn.to/3s3HwjO 10 Amp Power Supply: https://amzn.to/3qQduPe 5 Amp Power Supply: https://amzn.to/38LyDEd   Wiring: Barrel jack tip (Positive) to USB VBUS.
