So I have been getting back into using my Chinese made Harbor Freight Mini-Lathe (see more here: http://diy3dtech.com/mini-lathes/) and wanted to add a DRO (Digital Read Out) to it but didn't want to spend big bucks so designed up one of my own using an economical dial indicator I got off Amazon (see more here: https://amzn.to/2FUoo2G ) and if you need to extended the reach of the indicator, you also add an extension kit such as this https://amzn.to/2WdmakH and or a tip kit such as this https://amzn.to/2MsesPb depending upon your needs. I have also also uploaded two versions, one (v5) with a dual M3 cinching configuration (got the bolts and nuts from this kit: https://amzn.to/2T55bPn) and one without. Also the version with the M3 cinch is designed for 1/4-20 allen or phillips bolt whereas the other (v3) version uses a hex head recessed into the base. The reason is I was having a hard time getting my fingers in between the shaft and meter to tighten, so just grip the magic nut and use an allen wrench, your choice.
