For this competition, I decided I wanted to try to push the envelope on TownBuilder. I wanted to see if it could do more than just make fun little houses. So I decided to take on a big project with TownBuilder and build a Chess set, complete with pieces.  I'm proud to say that I accomplished the task. Every model you see in these images was modeled in Town Builder. I apologize in advance for the low-quality renders. The project turned to be soo enormous that it kept crashing my laptop when I was trying to do final renders. I started with the idea of having two different sides. A Medieval side, which I call the Pikes, for obvious reasons. The opposing side are the Punks, short for SteamPunks. I really like that TownBuilder allows you to mesh these different genres together, so I had fun with it. The board itself has two sides as you can see in the renders. There is a Pike base on one side and a Punk base on the other. Additionally, on either end, there are spectator plaforms for the Pikes and Punks respectively. The Punks are in hovering rocket pads, and the Pikes have multi-level town-home style outlooks complete with balconies. I rendered them separately so you can see the work. For the pieces, I painstakingly matched building materials with scatter objects. Look at the PunkKnight specifically. You'll notice his head is a steampunk desk and his neck is cabled coil scatter.  I really had fun with this competition. I'm going to refine the model and print it for my son's birthday. He is a nationally ranked chess master. TownBuilder was really up to the task with everythink I asked it to do. I was really impressed with the versatility beyond just building buildings. Enjoy!
