Since we shoot a lot for our YouTube channels we need a lot of cameras and we wanted one with a normal external mic input so to the internet we looked and found the COOAU 4K 20MP Wi-Fi Action Camera External Microphone Remote Control EIS Stabilization Underwater 40M Waterproof Sport Camera with two 2X1200mAh Batteries (see more here: http://on-photography.pictures/COOAUactioncamera ). Yet too I need more advanced cage for the camera as you can get for the GoPro & DJO Osmo line to mount it to various arms (such as this: https://amzn.to/2QexDOP ) so to Fusion 360 we went to design and 3D print our own version and it came out far better then expected! The COOAU Action camera is a crazy good camera for the money and the audio is also better then standard cheap and cheerful Chinese action cameras because of the external mic. However the body of the COOAU is the same all of the affordable generic branded Chinese action cameras out there so this cage should also work with them as it also worked for mine (and I have a dozen different ones). Also if your interested in see more about this model as well as it's design we have created a video here: https://youtu.be/qwEMZZzzpn8 The cage itself is designed in multiple parts being: Action Camera Cage-Body v26.stl Which is the main body of the cage with 1/4-20 mounting holes mounted 9mm on center (standard cage alignment)Action Camera Cage-Back v29.stl Which is the sun shield back as note the camera slides into the body (it will be a snug fit) and is held in place by and back and front.Action Camera Cage-OpenFront v27.stl This is a generic front cover that will hold the camera in place (along with the cage-back)Action Camera Cage-FrontCover v28.stl This is a form fit version for the COOUA camera with a protective lens hood however it will as mentioned likely fit other cheap and cheerful Chinese action cameras The front and back are physically attached to the cage by m4 x 5mm screws (you can get them here: http://on-photography.pictures/m4_screws ) as we liked the looks the hex caps added even-though screw heads would work.
