This design model is based on my own personal experience when designing for 3D printing. During the design phase of any product, it is sometimes difficult to imagine the final product designed for 3D printing. In most cases, each printer has many different capabilities when compared together. I found that when I got into modelling and eventually 3D printing the model, it never comes out exactly as I imagined it, which resulted in multiple irritations to get correct (which leads to wasted filament). This is how the guide cube was born, the need for an illustrative guide to assist in the model phase, which allowed me better to predict the 3D printed outcome of the model. The best part is that the cube incorporates the most common design requirements I found during my design phases and is still small enough to be placed on a desk or next to the printer. The design cube has the following illustrative guides: - Circle Tolerances- Infill Density- Layer Heights- Pressfit Tolerances- True Radius- Wall Thickness     The design incorporates snap-fit parts to change the designer's type of illustrations when creating 3D printable models. The design cube guide has six different sides illustrating common design qualities needed when creating a 3D printable model. It covers tolerances for a snap-fit design for circles and squares, wall thicknesses varying from 2 mm to 7 mm, infill percentages matching the UP Studio recommendations (can be changed for your printer type), varied layer height thicknesses from 0.15 mm to 0.40 mm for vertical and horizontal print quality, angled prints varying from 30 degrees to 70 degrees without supports, and true hole and cylinder dimensions. The design cube guide is a 3D printable gadget that illustrates the different print qualities for the given printer. The idea is simple and is highly customisable based on the designers need and the type of 3D printable models designed.   If you print this, please share a picture here or tag me on Instagram (@3dwhip).
