This is an Earth model complete with stand and an orbiting Moon. The Earth has a diameter of 100 mm and the Moon has a scale diameter of 27 mm (the Moon is roughly 27% the size of Earth). Both models have a 3 mm diamter hole through the center to accomodate a 3 mm steel rod (seen in the photos). The stand puts the Earth model at a 23.5 degree tilt. The Moon is not a scale distance from the Eath in this model. In order for that to happen, the arm would have to be about 3 meters long.  I printed these parts in PLA, with no supports, using the stock PLA settings in Slic3r Prusa Edition. The Earth model prints with lines that mark the equator, both tropics, both artctic and antartic cirlces, and latitudes. The insert coupling and allignment pegs help with alignment of both hemispheres but they may be omitted if you trust your alignment skills. The Moon does not have alignment pegs. I know the arm that the Moon mounts on is flimsy. I would suggest a dense infill (maybe 50% or more) to strengthen it. I plan on redesigning it to possibly have a foot at the end of it to keep it straight and level or possibly a different design for the whole setup.  In case you're wondering, I smoothed out the models with sandpaper and then painted them with a filler primer. I then wet sanded them with 400 grit sandpaper followed by 800 grit. After that I painted the whole globe with my favorite light blue spray paint. I then hand painted all the land masses with acrylic paints and the aid of stencils. The Moon was just white and gray acrylic paint.
