A customizable grip for acrylic sheet. This design is completely free and shared under a permissive license. Your support is hugely appreciated. Did you know? Some of our designs cannot be found on MyMiniFactory. If you are looking for more, check out our premium projects: https://codeandmake.com/premium Why? I designed this to hold acrylic sheet windows in a DIY 3D printer cabinet. It is designed to minimise heat loss by creating a seal all the way around the acrylic sheet, although it can also be used to create smaller brackets. How? Use OpenSCAD to customize: Customise for a variety of lengths, widths and thicknesses of acrylic Ends can be straight or angled for joining along a straight edge or corner It can be used for acrylic cut with various corner angles (not just perfect squares/rectangles) Customise for your screws, including countersunk screws I suggest printing a short length to test against the width of your acrylic and the size of your screws. Where? This is my first published customizable (OpenSCAD) part. Please share your comments and photos, including photos of where you've used it in your finished projects. When? Version history: v2.0 (29 January 2020) - Improved precision of Customizer parameters. v1.0 (07 June 2019) - Improved code, calculations and Customizer options. v0.5 (03 June 2019) - Fixed bevel bugs v0.4 (02 June 2019) - Added customizer tabs and Grip Type option (single or double) - single is intended for use as a door seal v0.3 (02 June 2019) - Added Counterbore Depth option and improved preview v0.2 (01 June 2019) - Made it easier to use in other OpenSCAD files. Also added a Force Render option which defaults to No (previously a render was forced). v0.1 (29 May 2019) - Initial version. Printing The default length of this part is 200mm, as that is the maximum size I can print on my printer. Recommended slicer settings: Resolution: 0.1mm - 0.2mm Infill: 10% - 25%. The default material thickness of the part is 3mm. Depending on your printer's settings it may or may not print infill. Infill will only become important if you increase the 'Material Thickness' setting. Supports: You may need supports if you use large negative end taper angles (i.e. < -50).
