The .stl files are for a piano-themed Microbit + Sensorbit casing. In a nutshell, this project is a Microbit that is able to play certain piano notes (mid C to high E) based on its tilt. The roll (horizontal tilt) affects the note being played while the pitch (back and forth tilt) plays / stops the sound. Extra Materials: Microbit Code and Demo Video Instructions: Connect a Microbit to a Sensorbit board. Upload the Microbit Code from the above link. Print out the casing. Insert the Microbit into the casing. If you would like, make some modifications (e.g. attaching it to a strap). Done!! Aim: UNSD Goal 4: Quality Education Story: A while back, I saw on social media how a local organisation devised a system that allowed children suffering from quadripelgia (paralysis of torso and four limbs) to create their own drawings using their eye movement. At that point, I was inspired to come up with something that would make learning music easier for children with paralysis so that they may also get exposure to music. I've also tried attaching the Microbit + 3D printed casing to a strap (as seen in one of the images), and hopefully doing something like this can allow children with paralysis of one arm (and thus find it harder to play the piano) to learn and make their own music too. While I have not tried this out, perhaps to help children with quadripelgia, the casing can be attached to a headband to be worn by the children. I feel that using a 3D printed casing not only can protect the children / anybody else from the sharp pins of the Sensorbit, but it also adds to the aesthetic appeal to motivate the children to learn how to make music. :)
