This object was made in Tinkercad. https://www.tinkercad.com/things/iFXLYkQFyFx This is a 3D printed Easter egg shaped frame for the Hubsan X4 107c drone. I designed this specificily for the Easter Egg Design Challenge. My original plans were to design a drone that folded into an Easter egg, but eventually I determined it would be easier and less time consuming to leave out the folding capabilities. This also simplified the design and made the 3D printing process less of a hastle. I optimized this for 3D printing by spliting the frame into two halves. It cuts down on the need for support material and cleanup. I haven't had much flight time with it, but with flight time I have had, it seems to be kind of unstable. The current solution to the instability is just learning how to fly it better and possibly using the trim controls on the remote. Unfortunately, it is still in the protype stage so there are wires hanging out and the top of the egg has to be taped on. In future designs, I will design to be more visually appealing and function better. An improvement I will make is shortening the arms so that the motor wires aren't stretched as much and adding in video recording capability. I hope you like the Egg Drone! -Projay-az P.S. During the process of assembling the drone, I found that it is extremely important to ensure that the circuit board is right side up. If it isn't, the accelerometer will think the drone is upside down when it isn't and try to correct itself by flipping over and causing lots of pain and frustration. I wasted about 2 hours trying to figure out this problem. Also, I might upload a video of the test flights in the near future.
