This model was created using 60 photos off a Samsung s20 ultra, the conditions down in the crypt at York Minister was quite dark and the photogrammetry was really just a learning curve for myself. It came out quite well despite the lack of light and the device I took the photos on. Doom Stone at York MinsterThe doom stone, which is carved from limestone and located in the crypt at York Minster, is a relief of hell dated from the 12th century. CauldronIt depicts a cauldron into which the souls of the damned are being pushed and tortured by fearsome demons. Above the cauldron, a well-dressed woman depicts luxury, and two figures with heavy purses around their necks depict avarice. In addition, two demons and two devils who support the cauldron hold a tortured soul in the flames. To the right of the cauldron are three mouths of hell. Although it was long assumed that the stone formed part of an external frieze, it is more likely that it came from an internal structure due to its excellent preservation. Toads also decorate the carving. Toads were magical creatures in the Norman imagination.
