This is a variation on my previous design that proved to be a little unstable with larger phones. I took inspiration from my in-car holder and put the side grips on. I am always catching my phone and knocking it of sideways so hopefully this will solve that problem.   The sides are geared so that they pull out together, just make sure when you glue them in place you get them straight, unlike me.   It’s pretty straight forward how to put it together, but if you have any problems let me know and I will try to help.   I did use supports and a brim, unfortunately I had a few problems with the base. Nothing to do with the model I have a bad batch of filament that continually clogs my printer nozzle. Because of this I split the base into 2 parts: - base and stem. This was to save on the little good filament that I had after 4 failed attempts. For some reason my slicer would not attach a brim to the bottom of the stem, so a attached my own.

I always wanted to be a draftsman and have always had a passion for designing things. I started my life as a cabinet maker, so love making things, whether it’s out of paper, cardboard, wood or plastic. I am a keen crafter and amateur book binder. I love computers and consider myself very computer literate. I have taught IT, built my own PC’s, repaired PC’s and worked in IT for a short while. So it was only natural that considering my background I would move into 3D printing. I consider myself a novice, but am learning new techniques every day and love the fact that there seems to be a whole community just for 3D printing. What a wonderful place to learn and share my work with like minded people.
