Designed By: River Castelonia A heartfelt thank you to Fred, Alan, & Harold Stark. Without you, this would not be possible. We have been very excited to debut our Utility Gauntlet to the maker community for sometime now and are interested to see how the creativity of the Havenlabs community can improve upon the Utility Gauntlet design. Our organization hopes to develop these medical applications for our disabled men and women in the military that have sacrificed so much for both our freedom and our country. This design was thought of and created by Havenlabs Co-founder and Executive Director, River Castelonia, who has dedicated his work to his grandfather, who served 27 years as a medic in the U.S. Air Force. We hope to continuously push the envelope on 3D printing applications and use it to improve the lives of those who need it most. This design aims to be as multi-functional as possible with the use of interchangeable attachments created by the Havenlabs community. With the current attachment and insert (listed below) it will allow very basic functions of amputees such as eating and shaving. This device is mean't to be a custom fit for each amputee and requires a 3D scanner in order to create a comfortable fit for the user. Other than the 3D printed parts listed below, you will also need the following: 6 Neodymium magnets - http://www.homedepot.com/p/MASTER-MAGNETICS-1-2-in-Neodymium-Rare-Earth-Magnet-Discs-6-per-Pack-07046HD/202526367 Loctite Super Glue - http://www.amazon.com/Loctite-1363589-Control-Adhesive-Bottle/dp/B003TP2TBQ See the instruction guide included for more details. PLA is recommended for these prints. Our hope is that people from all over the world will remix and improve on this design as well as developing innovative new attachments for Utility Gauntlet. (Note: This design is a mixture of both ABS/PLA and Ninjaflex. Also, please generate supports for each of the connectors pieces (x3). There is only 1 connector with this package, so you will have create 2 more in your choice of software (Cura, Slic3r, etc.)) The Ninjaflex bands are gauged on the the circumference of the the individuals limb at about 4-5 inches from the end of the residual limb (depending on the limb size of the amputee). The neodymium magnets are placed on the bottom of the socket end and are used as a way to interchange attachments in a fast and easy fashion.
