From the book LEO the Maker Prince:http://www.leothemakerprince.comhttp://www.amazon.com/LEO-Maker-Prince-Journeys-Printing/dp/1457183145When George wanted to personalize his new apartment, he came up with this design for this microgreens planter and handle combination that can be hung on a cabinet door. The main part of the planter sits atop a smaller knob that can be screwed into place. There's a reservoir at the bottom for water. This piece can be ordered in ceramic (pictured) from Shapeways, or built in plastic. Instructions NOTE: If you want to use the planter as a stand alone piece without having to mount onto a cabinet door, use the planterstandalone file. You won't need any knobs, studs, or nuts. For the full planter/handle assembly: Use file planter5mmbracket for the main part. You'll need to clean support material out of the cavity at the bottom, but you don't need to be precise. Just check that there's enough clearance for the drainage holes. Print the knob using the knobforplasticpart file, along with the screw and nut (files studformountingknob and nutformountingknob). Clean support material off all parts. Screw the stud into the bottom part of the knob. Check to see if the screw size will work with the hole in your cabinet door. If it will, then insert the knob and use the nut to fasten it. If there's room, you can make it more secure by using two nuts. Pot your plant, water it so that the bottom shows water has drained, but isn't overflowing. Slide the planter on top of the handle. If you'd like to have the planter in ceramic as shown in the picture, you can order it from Shapeways and then use the knobforceramicPart to make the knob in plastic. You can order the knob on Shapeways as well.
