The Pyramid Stacker is angled to the same dimensions of a real Pyramid. It's a series of easy prints that creates a multi-layered storage solution able to accommodate all sorts of small things up to quite large things if you have a build plate big enough to print the larger / lower layers (L4/5). build plate sizes required for the various layers are provided below. Just print up to the layer that your machine can accommodate. This is a versatile storage solution with a unique look. Great for everything ranging from jewellery through to electronic parts, cables, Lego and other small toys/models, tools, parts and much more... as you would expect with a storage solution of this shape store the smallest things near the top and larger things lower down. As the layers snap together (if well printed on a precise accurate machine) there is a small tab on one of the four faces of each layer to help with opening / separating the layers to store items away and / or get to the items already stored inside. The critical thing required to get a great result is clean prints with a nice flat base. Good build plate adhesion for larger / square prints is important. A range of configurations (options) is provided. Choose from a single open space within the layer to having he layer divided onto 2 or 4 equal 'chambers'. Each layer is 30mm in height. For example, to make a 3 layer Pyramid Stacker, print the top (L1), make the next layer down with a divider into 2 chambers (L2-2) then your bottom layer with 4 chambers (L3-4). To explain further, the .stl files are referenced in this way... L1 = Top Layer 2: Approx. 96mm square L2-1 = Open chamber one layer below the topL2-2 =Chamber divided into two equal areas Layer 3: Approx. 143mm square L3-1 = Open chamber two layers below the topL3-2 = Chamber divided into two equal areasL3-4 = Chamber divided into four equal areas Layer 4: Approx. 190mm square L4-1 = Open chamber three layers below the topL4-2 = Chamber divided into two equal areasL4-4 = Chamber divided into four equal areas Layer 5: Approx. 236mm square L5-1 = Open chamber at the lowest possible layerL5-2 = Chamber divided into two equal areasL5-4 = Chamber divided into four equal areas The Pyramid Stacker parts are easy prints... just print up to the layer required. On an accurate / well set up machine the layers should snap together securely (so it can be inverted and won't fall apart) with a small amount of effort... To get a great result you need a precise slicing app and well set up accurate machine. this will affect the fit of one layer into another. however, if your prints won't join the joining edges/surfaces can easily be cleaned up with a craft knife / sandpaper / a file until they do. If your joints are loose... no problem... just don't invert it or the layers will separate. People the world over like the classic 'Pyramid' shape so this design uses that to create a modular storage solution. You can print just the top (L1) and one layer down (L2) for a mini storage facility... or go all out and print the lot if your build plate allows it. A practical storage system for your own use but also great as a gift. Print all layers in just one colour or vary the layer colouring to help locate the stored contents you want at the time. Please refer to the print settings provided as well as the images for additional information.... and post images of your prints in use for other members to see. Note: If you like this check out the rest of my fun and practical designs! Your machine needs to print larger objects with a flat base well so there is no warping / curvature of the base edges. This will ensure a good clean snap fit. Print the top (L1) and your choice of L2 first to ensure they fit together well (as per the images provided). Just stack your Pyramid Stacker... nothing else required! The Pyramid Stacker should be ready to use straight off your build plate. However, it is too tight for layers to snap together you a quick/small file should quickly clean it up so it joins the layers securely but also leaves them easy to separate/remove. If for some reason your layer joints are slightly loose this is not an issue either... just sit the layers on top of each other as expected and the overlapping parts will align the layers and keep them in place. Note: Good build plate adhesion is required so your layers have a nice flat base surface. This ensures a good match between the layers when slotted together.
