My dad always called Ellesmere Port, the Venice of the North. This Narrow Barge was created as a prototype before making a large scale model. I have started lock gates - had to get my Boat Museum book out from 1980's for some revision. This design comes from a plan found on the internet:https://www.thefitoutpontoon.co.uk/product/narrowboat-drawing/ Ellesmere Port - home to:https://canalrivertrust.org.uk/places-to-visit/national-waterways-museum

About the author:
Urban Calamari
Over the last forty nine years I have held exhibitions and entered a variety of art competitions. However, my creative art skills have developed beyond the paintbrush, to encompass different mediums such as digital media, laser cut designs, non-linear editing and sculpture. Through my artwork I challenge myself to create imaginary worlds and iconic imagery. I am inspired by my local history and also I am a keen traveller journeying to explore world's architecture, art, history and landscape. Often I return with several sketchbooks and photographs that capture images I continue to develop in my artwork.
