Welcome to northern Thailand! This is part of a series of models to celebrate Thailand, its architecture, history, and people. Wat Chiang Man (Thai: วัดเชียงมั่น −  is a Buddhist temple (Thai language: Wat) contained within the old city walls and moat of Chiang Mai, in northern Thailand. Besides the gabled roof pagoda, the temple grounds also includes a stupa or "chedi" in the back, a pyramidal structure common in Buddhist temples used to store relics. Built in 1297, the elephant chedi is the oldest building in the complex. It is distinct because of the many elephant statues that adorn its 4 sides. As with many chedis around Southeast Asia, the top is covered in gold plates (from Wikipedia). MiniWorld3D is happy to share this beautiful yet simple model with the world and spread the heritage of Thailand and Southeast Asia. Please give credit when printing or sharing photos, we created this from scratch by brain & hand.   Photos by MiniWorld3D and hermanosfnz
