Material: Maiolica. Accession no: HCM 294. Current location: The Hunt Museum, Limerick. A glazed maiolica jar decorated with the image of an angel with the inscription underneath TRODREVBARO. It has a lid with a central knob surrounded by floral motifs. The back is plain. Small jars such as this generally contained medication in tablet or lozenge form, in this case of rhubarba purgative. 16th century AD.   More.
