Woman or goddess, Roman adaptation after a model of the years 430-420 BC J.-C., Italian Workshop, Discovery in Italy, Marble. inv. A.3682 (deposit of the Vatican Museums, 1969). Musée d’Art et d’Histoire (Musée Cinquantenaire, Brussels, Belgium). Made with CapturingReality. This fragmentary sculpture depicts a female figure wearing a tunic (chiton) and a coat (himation). This fashion takes over in Attic sculpture in the middle of the fifth century BC. J. - C. in the line of the sculptures of Parthenon. This figure is inspired by a statue created around 430-420 BC. But adapting it, perhaps for a representation of Fortune, because a hole in the upper left arm suggests the attachment of an object as the great cornucopia that the goddess is leaning on this arm.
