Found at Gytheion, Lakonia. The relief has the form of a naiskos (a small temple in classical order with columns or pillars and pediment) with pilasters and an epistyle. According to the inscription on the epistyle, Sosikrates dedicated his daughter Agathokleia to Demeter and Persophone.  Demeter is depicted at the centre of the representation, seated on a round base (or cista mystica), in front of which is Cerberus, the guardian of Hades. In her right hand, she holds the hand of the standing Persephone. The male figure next to Demeter is Plouton or most probably the dedicator Sosikrates. The latter's daughter, Agathokleia, is depicted on a smaller scale at the left.   This object is part of "Scan The World". Scan the World is a non-profit initiative introduced by MyMiniFactory, through which we are creating a digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks and landmarks from across the globe for the public to access for free.
