Antonio Bonazza (1698-1762) was an Italian sculptor of the Rococo. He is best known for his sculpture of genre themes, suggesting characters from the theatre for the formal gardens of Villa Vudovico Widmann at Bagnoli near Padua. In true Rococo style, his figurative sculptures held a lot of iconographic features as seen in his works 'Pieta' and 'Santa Maria Assunta'. These features often took the form of putti, of which this sculpture depicts.
