Charles Delhommeau first specialized in the creation of busts before shifting towards animal sculpture, inspired by the Paris “Jardin des Plantes” animals. He exhibited in the Nationale Society Salons (“La Société Nationale”) and participated to the Animal Artists Society’s exhibitions in 1946. He worked with the Sèvres Manufactory (“Manufacture de Sèvres”) and some of his terracotta art works were edited in bronze. Since 2000, we rediscover his Work thanks to the emergence of some of its bronze sculptures coming from French collectors estates. He is one of the Inter-War Period most remarkable and unjustly forgotten sculptor, until today.
