Triton, the son of Poseidon and Amphitrite, is a sea god with a human torso and fishtail. The figure belongs to a series of statues that stood on the roof of the SäWillenhall of the altar. A counterpart to this was the second Triton with a clam trumpet. About the exact distribution and meaning of this. Roof figures are obscure. One of these statues was found in a layer dating to 156 BC and gives a valuable indication that the roof had already been completed by that time.   This object is part of "Scan The World".
