This Taxidea specimen was collected in Humboldt Co., Nevada, 35 miles W and 6 miles S of Denio (near the Oregon state line), by S. B. Benson and R. W. Young during the winter of 1931. This individual Taxidea was a subadult at time of its death, for it has fully erupted but unworn permanent dentition and the cranial sutures are not completely fused. The sagittal crest has yet to form. The individual's sex is not known.
