This black granite statue is one in a series of three that depicts King Sesostris III, exhibiting the fine portrait quality of Egyptian Sculpture during his reign in the late Twelfth Dynasty. The faces are excellently worked, although the ears are over-large in common with many statues of the period. The sculpture was a gift from the Egypt Exploration Fund in 1905 and is on permanent display at the British Museum in London.   This object is part of "Scan The World". Scan the World is a non-profit initiative introduced by MyMiniFactory, through which we are creating a digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks and landmarks from across the globe for the public to access for free.
