Statue of a priestess of isis, Godecharle, Brussels, Hotel Belgiogioso, 1803, Pierre d’Avesnes. Collection Leopold II. Museum of the Cinquantenaire (Brussels, Belgium). Made with ReCap photo Pro from AutoDesk. Egyptology consists in the replenishment of various Egyptian decorative elements combined and sometimes transformed into original creations whose meaning differs from that of the antique models. This sculpture was created based on documents dating from the 17th and 18th. No less than eight documents were used to reconstitute this representation of a priestess of Isis. The hieroglyphics are partially fictitious. For more updates, please consider to follow me on Twitter (@GeoffreyMarchal).
