Sibyl of Cumae is one of the twelve sibyls, that of Cumae. In the Greek myths, she asks Apollo to let her live as many years as the grains of sand she could hold in her hand. However, since she was not asking for eternal youth, she grew old and faded away.  This statue stands in the Church of Saint Martin of Vignes, in the town of Troyes. It is the famous site of the Well of Sainte Jule, where custom has it that the saint was beheaded.  This cast was realised by Jean Pouzadoux
