This piece is actually the synthesis of two previously made works. The artist, Arvo Siikamäki (born 1943), had modeled the head of an Indian and a small sitting figure with a movement similar to the one here. For his exhibition in Helsinki in 1976, he designed a life-size combination of both works. The facial features of an Indian with a proud head posture are represented, while the body is helplessly bound with hands tied behind his back. There are two copies of this work.
