This is a Roman Augustan relief of unknown date found in the cloister of San Pietro in Montorio, next to the Academy of Spain in Rome. Its surface is covered with signatures made between 1940 and 1980. Such decorative panels were common in Roman architecture – similar work can be seen on the famous Ara Pacis, an altar in Rome dedicated to Pax, the Roman goddess of Peace.
