This decoration was cast from the Occidental facade's decoration of Notre Dame Cathedral. This part of the Cathedral is in fact decorated with 52 niches occupied by characters and figures in bas or high-relief. The figures are decorated at the base with foliage and natural motifs. The first scene "communion du chevalier" represents Melchizedek giving a host to Abraham. Some say that these two figures represent instead the archbishop Turpin and Roland. The other niches are decorated with Saint Joachim and the prophet.
