This sculpture shows a classic baroque putto - a chubby boy, usually naked, representing the omnipresence of God (similar to cherub) - holding a drum, a mask and a garland of flowers.  Andreas Schlüter (1659 - 1714) was a prominent baroque German sculptor, who lived in Poland, Berlin and Saint Petersburg throughout his life. As there are three documented persons of his name from the around the time he was born, we cannot be sure about his origins, but he designed and made many sculptures and architectural facades.
