This plaster comes from moulds made by the French consul Louis-François-Sebastien Fauvel (1753- 1838) of the decoration of the Parthenon. It is part of a block partially destroyed and depicts the frieze of the Great Panathenaea. This plaster work is of particular importance as it depicts two figures of whom only silhouettes remain on the original block in Athens.
