This is a scan of a polychrome terracotta statuette originating from the VII-VIII century from China. The manufacture of clay figurines is one of the oldest artistic and religious practices of man. The graceful figure with her tall headdress belongs to a very popular group during the second half of the seventh century and early years of the eighth. The Guimet Museum has several examples of these images, however this one, with its elegant port, remains the most attractive. Frail and somewhat nonchalant and even haughty, his face still reflects the child stiffness. Ultimate testimony of his assignment: the improbable hairstyle which is designated under the evocative name of "half bun"   This object is part of "Scan The World". Scan the World is a non-profit initiative introduced by MyMiniFactory, through which we are creating a digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks and landmarks from across the globe for the public to access for free.
