Found on the west slope of the Athenian Acropolis. The head was inlaid in a statue. The subject of the portrait was probably a Hellenistic ruler: Eumenes II (197-158 BC) or Ariarathes V Eusebes Philopator (163-130 BC), or Mithridates VI, King of Pontos (132-63 BC), or his son Ariarathes IX Eusebes Philopator (100-86 BC).
