This bust was found in Athens. It is the portrait of the philosopher Metrodoros of Lampsakos who lived in Asia Minor in the 4th century B.C. He was a pupil and friend of the philosopher Epicurus. This bust is a copy dating from the period of Hadrian, of a Hellenistic original dated probably 280-250 B.C.
